Edita Rose Bishop, stage name Edie Bishop. Born on February 22, 1978 in NYC, New York to two industry vets that worked as a stage producer and costume designer, respectively. At a young age, Edie knew that she was destined to make a career for herself in the arts. She was accepted into Laguardia High School for drama and would later continue her pursuit for higher education at the Julliard School. After her final showcase with Julliard, Edie was picked up for management and representation in 2000. While excited and armed with a relentless work ethic, Edie would not be granted an opportunity to work in film until the following year. She would get a minor role in the critically acclaimed film "Blow", which allowed edie to gain attention as a fresh face in the business. Eventually, Edie would find her steam in the 2002 indie sensation "Secretary". However, a push by management to do bigger films as a result to her success was not the best of moves. Edie would be attached to several films that were panned by critics and audiences. It was only when she went back to her indie roots in 2009, that Edie's career suddenly revived. She got an Oscar nomination for her role in "Crazy Heart" that year, a moment that would be a defining time in her career. Her climb upwards would seem like cake after that, and it was all too true. She's gone on to be praised for her involvement in films like "Young Adult", "American Hustle" and "Her".
